how much does 1/4 inch steel plate weight per square inch?
i need a grill top for a commercial gas stove. A sheet of 3/4 inch steel plate is used by Viking for thier grill tops, with no support. I think 1/4 inch steel plate on top of 4 burners will work. I need to know what it will weight for a 24x24 section.
0.070833 lbs/square inch or 10.2 lbs per square foot.
A 1/4" x 24" x 24" plate would weigh about 40.8 lbs.
