Berkey water filters any good?

Hi, I'm thinking of buying a large Berkey filter to remove contaminants from chlorine, fluorine and water. No However, there is little information about the content filter. How does this filter compared to filters distilled? I know that this filter does not increase pH level of the water, but is exactly what the pH level of the filtered water? For those who have this filter would not recommend it? Thanks
